Initial Situation
Bell Switzerland is one of Flawa AG’s major customers. Across almost all its production sites, more than 70 flawa iQ Pro cases are in operation throughout Switzerland, with further sites currently in the testing phase. We were able to exchange insights with the Safety Department at Bell Switzerland AG regarding their experience with the intelligent first aid system.
Disadvantages of Conventional First Aid Cases in Meeting Legal Employer Obligations
Ensuring that first aid stations are fully operational has always been a priority for Bell Switzerland. To maintain this, cross-site inspections were regularly carried out to check cases for completeness and expiry dates. In addition, internal first aid material storerooms had to be periodically checked, with unused materials frequently disposed of and replaced due to expired dates. Beyond the administrative burden and complexity of managing this in a compliant manner, the process also required considerable time and associated costs. For these reasons, the intelligent solution flawa iQ was evaluated.
Automatic Re-supply as the Decisive Feature
The emergency system’s single-use injury modules and automatic re-supply function were the main factors in its favour. The previously necessary inspection rounds and storage facilities for first aid materials could be completely eliminated. Another significant advantage for Bell Switzerland is the integrated alarm function. Each first aid case can be linked to specific workplace first aiders who are alerted and directed to the relevant location at the press of a button. This feature is unique on the market.
Compliant First Aid Cases and Injury Modules with a Simple Approach
In daily operations, those responsible benefit from consistently compliant and fully stocked first aid cases, which can be conveniently monitored via the iQ Portal from their workstation.
Furthermore, the injury modules developed by Flawa make handling much easier for first aiders and provide significant support during emergencies — a benefit recognised by numerous experts.
The aforementioned automatic re-supply function, triggered upon removal of a module, complements the system perfectly. Responsible persons can rest assured that each case is restored to full operational readiness within a very short time.
Conclusion
flawa iQ is a well-designed, intelligent first aid system that impresses with its simplicity, modular structure, automatic ordering process, and modern design.
The integration of flawa iQ and the experience gained so far have been positive. Employees have responded well to the new system. From the perspective of the Safety Department, the only drawback is the cost — both the initial investment for the connected cases and the ongoing monthly service fees. However, the many advantages compared with a conventional first aid case are considered well worth the price.
