Brief profile of VAT Vakuumventile AG
VAT is the world's leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance vacuum valves, multi-valve assemblies, vacuum modules, and metal diaphragm bellows. Its site in Haag (SG) is home to a production and research and development department, which has been equipped with flawa iQ across the board since mid-2020.
Initial situation
VAT has extensive premises, which were equipped with standard first aid kits for businesses. The effort required to check, refill, and maintain the first aid kits was immense. And yet it was impossible to keep track of what was needed where and when, and consequently what was missing from the kits. In addition, a separate stock of dressing materials had to be kept for refilling the kits.
Implementation of flawa iQ
VAT began a three-month trial phase at the start of 2020 with five flawa iQ Pro cases. This is the version with an automatic reordering function and integrated alarm solution. The system worked flawlessly, proved convincing, and addressed precisely those areas where conventional pharmacies incurred additional costs. As a result, more than 30 flawa iQ cases were installed at the Haag site, distributed across all buildings.
Added value and significant relief for those responsible
Thanks to the use of flawa iQ, the HSE team feels a significant reduction in their workload. Inspection rounds are now unnecessary, and thanks to the iQ online portal, areas with an increased frequency of injuries can be identified. Various improvement measures have already been introduced, resulting in a reduction in occupational accidents. Thanks to the automatic reordering function, there is also no need to stock replacement bandages. Most importantly for Stephan Berger, however, is the fact that flawa iQ ensures optimal safety for employees at all times.
Acceptance by staff
The concept of injury modules is new to employees. However, they are very easy and intuitive to use, enabling VAT employees and first responders to cope better in emergency situations. There is no need to spend ages searching through the case for the necessary materials. Stephan Berger also noted that, thanks to the gloves integrated into each module, first responders are placing greater importance on self-protection, meaning that the gloves are actually being used.

Stephan Berger describes flawa iQ as an “interesting high-tech product” that meets VAT's requirements and provides excellent service in terms of employee safety. He recommends the integration of flawa iQ to all companies that place great emphasis on this safety aspect.
