Expert Interview with Markus Steiner, Head of Construction & Technology at the University of St. Gallen

In today’s expert interview, we speak with Markus Steiner, Head of Construction and Technology at the University of St. Gallen, about the challenges associated with traditional workplace first aid cases – and how the innovative flawa iQ system has solved these problems.

Mr Steiner, to start, let’s take a quick look back. What difficulties did you encounter when using traditional first aid cases?
The old emergency cases repeatedly caused us problems in the past. They were often “raided” and therefore incomplete. The effort required to keep them fully stocked, as required by law, was enormous.

What prompted you to consider the intelligent flawa iQ solution for your organisation?
Exactly the time and cost involved in managing standard first aid cases, as mentioned above. It was simply too great and the reason why we started looking for a new solution. flawa iQ solves this issue automatically while also offering many additional improvements. The system convinced us through its ease of use and cost control.

In what situations does flawa iQ make your daily work easier, and which features bring you the greatest added value?
flawa iQ mainly supports us through the automatic monitoring and control of each case’s inventory. In addition, we can now easily track which materials were used at which locations and, as a result, identify what types of injuries occurred. The greatest added value for us is clearly the time and cost savings.

What are your experiences with the new flawa iQ first aid system? Have your expectations been met?
Our experience with flawa iQ has been entirely positive, and my expectations have been fully met. We felt it was important to incorporate the new system directly into our internal first aid training. Our company first responders have adapted very well and are now confident in using the system.

As the person responsible for this area, do you feel “safer”?
Yes, my sense of security has indeed increased, thanks to the consistently well-equipped cases.

The use of injury modules is new. How do you assess this innovation?
The use of injury modules is straightforward, intuitive, and a real help for our employees. We have received only positive feedback on this new approach.

How did you find the process of implementing flawa iQ at your organisation?
The implementation of flawa iQ at the University of St. Gallen was smooth and uncomplicated. The only challenge was ensuring connectivity at every location.

Who would you recommend flawa iQ to?
I have already introduced this system to several colleagues and business partners. In my opinion, flawa iQ is a smart, contemporary product that fits perfectly into the digital age. It makes the management of first aid and safety equipment much easier and more efficient — especially for large, multi-site organisations like ours.

Mr Steiner, thank you very much for your positive feedback and recommendation. We wish you continued success with flawa iQ.
